For all the angels
“You will see heaven open and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the son of man.”
The ministry of these messengers is always to point to God; the work of an angel is never divided from the selfless love that is its nature, and they will be going back and forth without pause as long as there are human beings and a world to minister to.
Those other creatures that God calls his children are not meant to be angels, but they could learn something from them. They are their friends and fellow servants in Christ Jesus, and as sophisticated and independent as some of the disciples may be, they are still parts of one body which will experience relationship as an intrinsic part of their being. They can thus look trustingly to the angels for help, and example, since the angels’ delight is to serve the one who is nearest and humblest, highest and lowest, and does all.
