'It is the peculiar office of the monk in the modern world to keep alive the contemplative experience and to keep the way open for modern technological man to recover the integrity of his own inner depths.'

—Thomas Merton
The Monastic Journey

The Order of Julian of Norwich was founded in 1985 with the intention of providing contemplative monastic life and witness as a leaven of spiritual renewal in the Episcopal Church. Committed to prayer, intercession, and conversion of life, 'in the spirit of our Mother St Julian', our life in community is grounded in the Eucharist and four-fold Daily Office, and includes work, study, and times of solitude and recreation.
