From the very beginning, hospitality has been a key element of monastic life. The Order of Julian of Norwich maintains guest rooms at both of its houses and we are eager to share the silence, prayer, and peace of our life with those seeking for rest, recollection, and a deeper connection with God. While we don’t offer formally programmed retreats or large guest accommodations, our guests almost always discover their undirected time of leisure, prayer, and rest to be filled with the Holy Presence of God. The ministry of spiritual direction is offered by the Order.


At Julian House, the two guest rooms are in the monastery proper, and the setting is of relatively quiet suburban life close to Milwaukee. Those who wish to reserve a guest-room to make a retreat or to arrange for direction should contact the Guest Steward at:
